Strangest Encounters with Random Players

we've all had them. share your stories here!

for the sake of friendliness, please do not use players names.

anyway here is one of my tales:

I put up an ad to promote my ranch store, and not a second later I get a pm

"i will buy one of your horses!"

wonderful! said I in response, as I anticipated their selection and the the accompanying notice to appear in my chat window.

a few minutes later I get another PM from the same person

"where are you?"

innocently I responded "on plains Isle, what do you need?"

their reply "I'm at your ranch, I want to buy one of your horses."

maintaining my patience, I inform them that to buy a horse from my ranch, they need only to click on the welcome sign to browse the store and make their selection, and that I do not need to be present.

a few minutes later I get another pm from the same person

"come to your ranch I want to buy a horse"

now becoming annoyed, I politely explain how to use a ranch store again and explain that I'm busy and my attendance is not required

I get another pm: "get over here!"

so I decided that it was time to log off for the day XD I ended up losing a sale, but really, some customers are just not worth dealing with lol

Here are two stories of mine:

Another Player: I would like to buy [such and such horse]
Another Player: How much do you want for it?
Me: Okay, the Foreign Bidder will give me 180k or there about for it.
Another Player: I'll pay 150k for it.
Me: ._.

Story 2:
Player: can i have Lace your mustang? (FYI she is maxed, 1k+ exp and 5/6 genes)
Me > Player: in what sense of the word "have?" To buy? To lease?
Player: Buy
Me > Player: you have 5 horses already and with an expired sub, you won't be able to pay for it or to actually take it to your account
Player: i am getting rid of a horse and can you put it in the barn?
Me > Player: you mean surrender it? why would I do that? I won't get any money for it and you aren't guaranteed to get it
Player: i am going to get it please?
Me > Player: no
Player: :( you are mean.



~Fun Fact: In Library of Congress shelving, the Bible and other religious materials are listed under the BS heading. Someone had a sense of humor...

lol this was a more recent happening at a ranch party

we were lined up in a beauty contest, and the horse I was entering had a pet owl, and one of the other party guests said that they would trade me a pigeon for my pet owl. a little bit dumbfounded as to how to respond to that, and since they were a non sub I just said non subs can't trade, sorry. then she sent me another message saying that she would trade a pigeon for my owl and a sub token, now getting annoyed I decided to be more blunt "I don't sell subs, my pets are not for sale and I already have a pigeon."

and then I get the humbled "oh..." as a response.

and believe it or not that's not the first time I've had an encounter like that. people offering to buy my foals or tack for TONS below what they're worth. I once had someone ask me if they could buy my black english tack for 4k!! politely as I could I just said, I'm not selling it for less than its worth. I have no idea where people get the notion that because something is in someone's possession that they automatically want to sell it at a remarkable discount

One of my strangest was a player asking me to "hold her horses" while she did what I don't know.. there was a wild there at the moment which I kindly held for her.. cool
