| I just wanted to make a post about your encounters with experience trainers. I managed to hire someone today, with a $100k/1k exp payout. Not bad, but I check just exp ranks, and after I am assured that they will get at least 1,500 experience on my horse, I see about 100 has been put on and the horse returned to me. This is why I don't really use exp trainers and try to do as muchof it myself. This was also my first experience with sending out a major horse of mine to be trained with someone I didn't know (mistake #1).
So, to fuel my fumes here, and offer comfort for myself and others, what have some of your worst experiences been with experience or ranch trainers?

| I train most of my horses myself, but sometimes I'll find myself with several needing work at once, so I lease out for training. I've had good and bad experiences. Nothing sucks more than having a horse returned and it has 200/1000. So after a couple of not so great trainers. I learned:
1) Shop! People have varying prices for the same exact stuff, so find a budget. Stick to it. Guaranteed you can find a trainer who can work with it.
- Use the ads! - Use the forums!
2) Ask to see their horses. You don't want to hire someone who has untrained horses themselves. You want to be able to see proof of their work. Most trainers take pride in their own stock and use them as examples.
3) Check the player exp. If you need a horse's exp raised to it's BB, make sure that the trainer themselves has 1kay exp or more. See if the exp of the horse's matches with the exp of the owner. You hardly see trainers with a double BB horse that only has 2,600 experience themselves. If they do...something isn't right.
4) ask around. You'd be surprised how well "Word of mouth" works on the internet.

| I once payed a girl 15k to put 500 exp on my horse (For the esroh). She said she could do it in 2 days...the horse was returned to me with 27 exp on him.

| Before Exp Contracts were implemented, I payed 50k for someone to get 1,000 experience on my horse. They put 13 experience on him, and returned with 0 thirst/hunger/tired. Lost 50k + livery bills.

| I was one of those "exp trainers". I am taking a short break to work on my horses. I only do exp training on LC though. I *always* make sure that the horse is at 100% hunger/water/tired and 100% health. I hate it when I lease my horses out to someone and they get returned below health and what not. Why return an unrested horse to someone when I hate people doing that to me? Word-of-mouth does travel on the internet, especially HI. I get repeat customers and others who "heard it from a buddy" to do exp on their horses. So, not all exp trainers are bad, but on LC you do have to worry about people overcharging you too. Nowadays, there really is no reason to charge 100k for 1k exp, especially with the bonus arenas.
