The totem pole has 5 gems on it, and it's also one of those 3-hat poles.
"3. Some totem poles, on the top, have kind of a pointy hat like three hats piled one on top of the other. They mean this: go as far as the gems say forward, turn right, subtract the number of gems from 200, go that number of feet forward, and dig there. "
Go as far as the gems say forward - 5 feet.
Turn 90 degrees right.
Subtract the number of gems from 200 - 195 feet, and dig there.
