Well, I have two horses on loan, Dennis (show name Dutch Destiny), a light grey 17-18 year old, 16.2 hh TB X Dutch Warmblood, and Pintoe (show name Maggie May), a bay 13 year old, 16.3 hh TB x Hanoverian. I've been riding for over 11 years, I started off with ground work (not really dressage due to how basic it was), then I moved onto jumping for a while, but now I'm doing dressage with Pintoe weekly in my lessons, and taking both Dennis and Pintoe out for hacks (Dennis is semi retired now as he has melanomas (skin cancer in the form of lumps) so he can't bend too well). Both of them can be absolute pains when you school them (before Dennis was semi retired anyway), while Pintoe has an amazing strike off, Dennis had the better paces and was submissive, while Pintoe is just, well ... a mare. Pintoes owner has told me that she is a great jumper, but I'm going to make sure that she knows for sure hat I'm boss, and stops testing me as such before I start jumping her.
I also have started having some jumping lessons every three weeks on a 14hh or so black pony called Tazz. He's really well behaved, and is *very* enthusiastic when it comes to jumping, but if your not careful, he wont pick up his back legs properly and knock the jump over. Going over one jump is fine with him, but when it comes to doing a course, the half-halts are never ending (haha) and its best to keep coming down to trot inbetween jumps (where possible) just to regain some control over the tempo, as he can fly over jumps (which isnt that great when he wants to speed over a jump thats got the arena fence a few metres after it). I think that my perfect horse would be a cross between Dennis, Pintoe and Tazz (laugh out loud) with Dennis' paces, submission and generally being happy to come when I call him instead of me having to lead him, Pintoes strike off and jumping ability, with Tazz's personality (as he's bombproof, unlike my two, and has such lovely enthusiasm).
Well, I hope I havent bored all the people who've bothered to read this now (: but thanks for reading anyway.

Well, as far as my life goes with horses - it's rather straight forward.
I've started riding a decade ago, at a family friend's barn. She had quarter horses. I took lessons for six and a half years, until I picked up a job during school.

I know do barn chores daily at my Great Uncle's barn, who has four appaloosa's. (Let me tell you, when they say appaloosa's are stubborn they are not joking!) I get the privilege of riding once a week so far, on one of my uncle's horses, and then ride at a friends house who has an off the track standard bred. I've also started made a deal with a friend of my uncles to exercise her five horses daily - starting in September.

As far as the disciplines I do, I've done a bit of everything. Mostly western, and a little bit of english. The biggest I have jumped would be just over a meter! I'm looking to get into endurance riding, and have plans to buy my own horses when I have my own property.

I don't ride much now, because all the sport horses I used to ride are now old and retired. I just go feed them and take care of them, occasionally to take them to slow ride to nearby forest smile Yet I am planning to buy a new, younger horse - but I need to save so much more money first smile
